Malaria rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs) and fever case management in the private health care sector in Africa: a consultative working meeting

Dates: Tue 20 and Wed 21 Oct 2015

Venue: Imperial Botanical Beach Hotel, Entebbe, Uganda

The meeting brought together nearly 60 invited participants, representing national malaria control authorities, device and drug regulatory agencies, international public health authorities (WHO/GMP), commercial and private diagnostic- and health-related interests in malaria-endemic countries, programme implementers, researchers, and funders. Participants systematically reviewed experience to date with malaria RDT implementation in private health care contexts in Africa, in order to generate preliminary guidance for countries implementing RDTs and fever case management in their private health care sectors.
